Insider travel tip: Flights from John Wayne (Orange County) Airport tend to be a few dollars more expensive than other airports, but worth the price and saved time. Long Beach is often a cheaper and good alternative too. It's best to book your flight now, and then coordinate housing later.

Orange County does not have reliable/convenient public transportation, so you will need to rent a car if you are flying in. Conference activities are spread out in South Orange County between Newport Beach Thursday, Laguna Beach Friday, Irvine (Fri/Sat day/Sun) and Anaheim (Sat). You will need to have access to a vehicle to get around. Uber & Lyft are both offered here as well. Carpools & ride shares are encouraged due to the cost of gas. Feel free to coordinate amongst self or post where you are staying on facebook to figure out who is where.

The Toll Roads: https://thetollroads.com/

Irvine and surrounding areas can be accessed from the 5 Freeway, as well as various Toll Roads. Tolls roads each way can be expensive. If you do not have a transponder, you can pay your tolls online within 5 days of usage if you accidentally end up on a toll road. If you are in Orange County and traffic is moving fairly well, the Toll Road will only save a few minutes of drive time, so consider that before you go that route. The Toll Roads can easily be avoided, so recommend that you add this to your map settings. If you find yourself on a toll road, make sure you log online and pay it.
